Last September at the American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan I spotted an outrrageous graffite home dec print at the Haberman Fabrics booth. I bought it on the spot and later that day my friend and fellow Islander sewing instructor, Laura Wyatt purchased the very same fabric.
In May this year, I went to participate in a panel discusion at the Pattern Review Meet-Up in Chicago where Laura lives. Much to my delight she not only met me there but was wearing "our" fabric made in my Jacket Express pattern! Dont ask me how long it took her to match all the multiple pieces of the jacket to have the face appear on the back, but doesn't it look great!?
I was so excited to see what Laura had made, later in July I was crafting my own new pattern from "our" fabric. This pattern will be available later this year.
I think this undeclared challenge was so much fun that I am challenging Laura to a re-match this September at ASE. I can't wait to see what wonderous fabrics Haberman's has in store for us this year!
