Cosplay = Costume Fun for Everyone!
Best in Show
Jennifer Skwarski of Ann Arbor, MI

Jennifer's entry is an original design based on the Science Fiction characters called Daleks from the popular British television series, Doctor Who. Jennifer, you were oh so clever in creating the Dalek in this modern day human version.
Well Done Jennifer!

First Runner-up Emily Boyd

Emily is from Royal Oak, MI, wearing her rendition of Kotsu. Kotsu is a witch of death, known as "The Skull Witch" for her ability to manipulate bone. Sounds pretty sinister for such a beautiful witch.

Best Historical Costume Kim Lohr

Kim is from Oxford, MI and is wearing a Late Bustle Period middle-class house dress. Kim used Truly Victorian patterns: 1885 Curiass Bodice and Cascade Overskirt. She even made all of the historically correct undergarments! Wow, that is some sewing feat!

Best Original Pattern, Madison Paden

Madison is from Vermilion, OH. She drafted the dress pattern and constructed it in approximately forty hours. The dress is made of crepe and the bodice was interfaced and piped. Including painting and embellishing the boots and altering the wig, this costume took approximately seventy hours to make. Madison's character is Nui Harime, from the anime television series, Kill la Kill. You are certainly pretty in pink, Madsion.

Best Prop Kurt Allen

Kurt is from Auburn, GA. HIs costume is Zorg from the science fiction movie, The Fifth Element. Kurt looks amazing similar to the original character. The judges were most impressed with his prop (gun) that he crafted himself. Thanks Kurt for bringing Zorg to ASE!
