Innovation Generation
Grand Prize Goes to..
Jasmine Hampshire of Roseville, MI

Jasmine is 18 years old and has competed in the ASE Innovation Generation Contest for 10 years. That's right, she started at age 8 with very basic sewing skills but a big imagination and conviction to learn more and elevate her skills every year. The young sewer's entries over the years have been everything from a simple dress to an excellent fitting bathing suit. This year she really outdid herself by drafting her own pattern for a leather motorcycle style jacket with inserts of her own handmade chain maille. The jacket is completely lined and the chain maille inserts meticulously hand stitched to the jacket. Jasmine didn't stop there, she also constructed her flair cut jeans. Her entire outfit looks like it could hang on the rack of a high-end boutique in NYC. She won the wonderful Baby Lock Anna Sewing Machine presented here by Baby Lock president, Steve Jeffery.
