Teacher Spotlight

We are excited to introduce you to  the talents of Debbie Bone-Harris, who brings a little bit of the past into the future with her Embellishing on the Edge, using vintage ribbonwork techniques from yesteryear to produce incredible treasures to be used on clothes, handbags, quilts, pillows - just about anything.  Her classes are full of new and exciting ribbonwork techniques - not just roses, but complex trimmings ideally suited for a host of applications.

Debbie quickly became addicted to the marvel of spectacular forms that ribbon can take over 15 years ago and continues to teach the traditions of yesteryear.  Most popular as dress decorations in the 1860's, then as millinery and children's clothes adornment in the 1920's, she loves teaching classes and sharing her knowledge with all levels of sewing enthusiasts.

Debbie is an active member of the American Sewing Guild, the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP) and has been a Washington State University Clothing and Textile Advisor for over 10 years.
