ASE Celebrates 20 Years of Sewing Education and FUN!

Happy 20th Birthday ASE!

We hope you have had as much fun over the past 19 years as we have!

To celebrate our 20th year we will be posting trivia questions about ASE logos, events and special guests. Prizes will be awarded!

Without further ado here is the first question:

Name the teacher who has taught at every ASE for all 19 years. Hint: she is in the cover photo on the home page of the ASE website.

Passion For Fashion

Deadline to enter is July 1, 2013.

If you are a sewing enthusiast that likes to add your own style to projects, the American Sewing Expo wants you to put on your creative hat, let your imagination go wild and enter our 7th Annual ASE Passion For Fashion!

This is a live challenge that will provide the opportunity for avid sewers to showcase their sewing and design talents complete with professional models and fashion show. The participants will be given a design challenge scenario and expo attendees will have the opportunity to follow the progress of the designers as they work on their creations.

A panel of industry fashion experts will judge and choose the challenge winner based on creativity, construction, fit, and composition.

Deadline to enter is July 1, 2013.

Grand Prize:

A Baby Lock Symphony Sewing Machine

Second Prize

A Baby Lock Eclipse Serger

Third Prize

A Baby Lock Anna Sewing Machine

Contest Entry Form and Rules

Calling All Sewers, Ages 8 to 18

Innovation Generation

Back by popular demand in 2013 is the Innovation Generation sewing challenge. Ages 8 to 18 are encourage to join the fun. Enter this contest by filling out the contest entry form and mail to ASE. Entries are not due until September 9th.

All contestants will participate in a runway fashion show featuring their garment. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the fashion show on Saturday, September 28, 2013.

If you know a talented young sewer, please pass this information on to them. If you know a young person who wants to learn to sew, please consider being their teacher or helping them find a quality sewing program where they too can learn how much fun sewing can be!
