Gary Holloway
In many ways he embodies the World Convention. His name is George Habib, an Arabic-speaking minister for the Liberty Church of Christ in Sydney, Australia.
George has a heart for all Arabic speaking people throughout the world, wanting to bring them the good news of Jesus. He particularly became interested in the 20 million Arabic-speaking people spread throughout Latin America.

Through our Global Gathering in Brazil in August, George connected with many Arabic speaking people to share the good news and to pave the way for further trips to South America. His last day there was a special blessing. In George's words: "God opened the door for me on my last day to share the Gospel with Daniella, a receptionist at the hotel; she was genuine and accepted Christ as a Savior. She said, 'I am thankful to the Lord who brought George over to Goiania to explain to me Christianity. I never had a relationship with Jesus, but from now on I can say my life will be different with Him'".
The story of George and Daniella is one of the many ways God is working through World Convention to connect Christians, churches, and ministries. We are a catalyst ministry that brings Christians together for service.
Here near the end of 2012, we especially need your generous gifts. And thanks to the generosity of three donors, all the gifts you give through the end of the year will be matched, thus doubling your gift.
God is at work through World Convention, through our churches, and through people like George. Let's give him thanks for his powerful work!

YOUR GIFT GIVES MORE
Thanks to the generosity of two donors, all gifts from individuals through the end of 2012 will be matched.
So if you have made your gift this year, we ask for another generous gift. And if you have not given this year, please prayerfully consider doing so.
Your gifts make it possible to continue to our ongoing ministry of connecting everywhere, every day.

The Women's Desk
A visitor came to our office. We talked about the usual nonprofit related concerns--fund raising, focused branding, and clarity of mission. And then we heard an unintentional lesson.
"Sometimes when I teach a class," our visitor began, "I begin by drawing a target. And, I ask my class, 'What is at the center of our church community?' The response is easy, 'God, definitely.' And then I ask about Jesus, God's Son - our Savior. Again, an easy and earnest, 'Jesus is at the center, too.' Finally, I ask, 'How about church camp? Or Sunday school?' Understanding flickers brighter. These opportunities to act out and reinforce our faith, although important tools and disciplines that sit close to the center, are not in the bull's eye."
I'm not sure any of us had anticipated that God would speak so clearly about unity in that room. This simple illustration with a simple question - What is at the center? - is the unity question World Convention and Global Women Connecting ask to be considered in their daily ministry. It's the bull's eye that we are aiming toward. When we focus on the surrounding rings, we risk missing the target.
Any two of us will have different ways of receiving God's guiding hand as we hold our bow and take aim. Praise God for the many circles that train our sight and heart!
