PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
 

For the past decade, the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce has earned a reputation as a premier partner on travel trips to China.  The Chamber has sent over 1,000 travelers to China to experience the culture and economy in the world's most populous country. 

In keeping with the Chamber's tradition of offering educational travel experiences that you may not have considered previously, we are excited to announce our newest destination in 2016 - Cuba!

2015 CHAMBER BUSINESS WORKSHOPS

 

"Social Media Marketing" will be the subject of a small business workshop to be hosted the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce on August 26.

 

This is the sixth in a series of business workshops for 2015 held in conjunction with the United States Small Business Administration and the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce.  The workshops are open to all Chamber and non-Chamber businesses and their employees and will offer expert advice from experienced business professionals designed to help small businesses succeed and grow.

 

Social media is a great way for your business to market itself at a lower cost. In this program, participants will understand the difference types of social media and how they are used, learn to choose the social mediums that best fit the needs of the business, learn how to define social media strategy and recognize common mistakes made on social media.

 

Other workshops on the 2015 schedule are as follows:  September 9 - "Holiday Marketing - Tips for Small Businesses"; October 14 - Profit Improvement Strategies"; and November 18 - "Customer Service That Wins Sales.

GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK - IT'S TIME FOR GOLF (OR BOCCE)

 

The Chamber's 43rd Annual Golf Outing will be held Wednesday, July 29th at Terry Hills Golf Course and Banquet Facility. 
A Bocce tournament has been added for those non-golfers who want to participate.   Golf is $125 per person while Bocce is $60 per person.  Both include lunch, dinner and prizes.  Dinner only is $30 per person.  More information is available at by clicking here!

TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE, CUBA, CANADIAN ROCKIES AND ALPINE COUNTRIES TRAVEL TRIPS ADDED FOR 2015-16

 

The Genesee County Chamber of Commerce has added a number of new travel trips for 2015 and 2016.
 

The Chamber is offering a Tournament of Roses Parade trip December 29, 2015 to January 2, 2016.  The tour includes round trip air fare from Buffalo to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations, reserved seating at the Tournament of Roses Parade, a New Year's Eve gala celebration and optional trips to Las Vegas and San Diego.


The Chamber also announced its travel trips for 2016.  The first ever trip to Cuba will take place March 2-8, a Canadian Rockies train trip will run April 21-29 and a tour of the Alpine Countries of Austria, Germany and Switzerland from September 15-27.

 

A few spots still remain on the Chamber's Thailand and Hong Kong 2015 tour that will depart on October 31 and return November 8. Travelers will experience the culture, famous landmarks and architectural details that Thailand and Hong Kong have to offer.  The trip includes air fare, four and five-star hotel stays, three meals each day, deluxe bus tours, English-speaking tour guides, admission tickets to all tourist spots and airport taxes.

Summer TV Campaign Kicks off June 29th

The 4-county GLOW region tourism agencies (Country Byways of Greater Niagara and the Finger Lakes) collaborate on many tourism initiatives in order to expand our reach and pool resources.  Beginning June 29th our 6 week TWC summer advertising will begin airing in select markets within a "close to home", 2-hour radius. You can view the summer spot here.  

Outer market advertising for Genesee County has been ongoing since March.

 

Save 10% on your 2016 Genesee Visitor's Guide Ad

Advertising is now open for the 2016 visitor guide.  Save 10% off your display ad when your contract and payment is received in full by July 31, 2015.  Please see the Contract and Rates sheet.  

Production, including layout will begin in September and the guide will go to print in December. 90,000 copies will be printed for year-round distribution.
