This past weekend, GUMC marked a milestone for nearly 1,000 students from the School of Medicine, Nursing & Health Studies and Biomedical Graduate Education, with an array of ceremonies and receptions honoring the achievements of these students and their teachers.

Graduating BGE students came together on May 16 to receive their diplomas as the culmination of their master's or doctoral studies. The keynote speaker was Jesse Goodman, MD, MPH, director of GUMC's Center on Medical Product Access, Safety and Stewardship.


School of Medicine students who will serve in the United States Army, Navy and Air Force took the oath of office during a commissioning ceremony May 17.

Georgetown University graduated more than 4,600 

students in 10 ceremonies during Commencement Weekend 2014, May 15-18. The graduates, who were from 49 states and 27 countries, took 62,722 courses and earned 186,701 credit hours.
