Employee Highlight

Meet our Director of Client Services, Teresa Felton, who is an integral member of our team and who we rely on to make sure that every client that we serve is treated with dignity and respect. Teresa is full of caring energy that makes our Resource Center a great place to visit. Thank you for all that you do for A Precious Child and our clients, Teresa!
Thank You Sponsors

Our sponsors, Mister Sparky, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and One Hour Heating & Cooling, created a promotion to benefit A Precious Child at the recent Denver Home Show.

The event helped to increase awareness of A Precious Child and our work and brought in needed funds to support our programs.

A huge thanks to the Sales Team that worked to promote our organization at the event.

Helping Local Dreamers

Our sponsor, Denver Transit Partners (DTP), is a Foundation-Level Sponsor of A Precious Child and a continual partner of our organization.

DTP is an active member in the community, and invited A Precious Child to become more involved with the I Have A Dream Foundation, which is one of our Agency Partners.

DTP is supporting a "Dreamer", a high school student from the I Have A Dream Foundation, that will intern with A Precious Child throughout the summer.

We're excited to have a "Dreamer" on board and are forever grateful to DTP for their continued support.

Agency Partner Site Visit

A huge thank you to the Mile High United Way 2-1-1 team for taking time out of their busy day to visit A Precious Child for a tour of our Resource Center. We always welcome the opportunity to meet with Agency Partners to see ways that we can build stronger relationships. Thank you for joining us!

giveSPORTS Update!

Our giveSPORTS program is sponsoring the PAL Cardinals Team through the Police Activities League. One of our clients that was shopping in our Resource Center told us the story of the team. All members of the team, which consisted of 11 and 12 year old boys, had paid their registration fees and the money was stolen when the coach's car was broken into. The team was trying to host fundraisers, such as a local carwash, to help raise some of the funds ... but they had not yet recouped the $990 and were not going to be able to play this year. giveSPORTS granted the team a scholarship to cover league fees so that they could participate this year. We're wishing the Cardinals team a successful season!

Greetings!

We're excited to highlight our partners, clients and events this month. There are so many ways to make a difference in the lives of local children in need. Thank you for your continued support of our organization and for being a hero in the life of a Colorado kid.

Volunteers of the Month, Bob & Mary, Provide Hope to Kids in Colorado by Supporting Us in Many Different Ways

Bob & Mary
Bob & Mary are two A Precious Child volunteers that take the word "support" to a whole new level! They have been behind our organization from early on, and have found so many ways to help us help more kids in need in Colorado.

Together they have been a part of our events - from helping out at our annual bowling tournament to pulling together our golf tournament goodie bags and everything in between - and they have found other areas to shine in. Mary volunteers regularly in our Resource Center, and Bob is our Chief Woodworker, otherwise known as Bob the Builder, and has helped us to spiffy up our new Conference Center by volunteering and lending his skills in many different ways.

Mary has a knack for knitting the cutest infant caps, which we distribute to moms-to-be, and Bob has donated some of his woodworking projects as auction items for our regular events. They have hosted sock drives and helped out with Fill A Backpack in the late summer. They have also served as a catalyst between A Precious Child and the community, introducing us to potential corporate partners and helping to establish strategic relationships within the community.

Bob & Mary are two fabulous volunteers that help out at A Precious Child every year. They give numerous examples of how easy it is to join in and help provide basic essentials for local children. Interested in volunteering your time, skills and/or getting involved in another way? Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Emily Simones, at emily@apreciouschild.org.

Thank You to Walgreens for Bringing Joy to Kids on Easter

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our local Walgreens partners for their efforts in helping put Easter baskets together that we handed out to our clients. We wanted to thank those that participated for taking time out to help bring joy to the lives of Colorado kids in need.

The smiles that these Easter Baskets brought to kid's faces were priceless! The original plan had been to have an Egg Hunt, however inches upon inches of snow made it impossible to host the hunt. Thank you to our Walgreens partners for being flexible and for making the most of the situation and helping bring Easter joy to our clients.

Agency Partner Highlight: Give Denver

Smiling clients in our resource center.
GIVE Denver is one of the 170+ Agency Partners that refers clients in need of assistance to A Precious Child. The program is hosted by the Denver Human Services Department and, like A Precious Child, is dedicated to providing assistance to those that are most vulnerable in our community.

The organization sends clients to A Precious Child if they are in need of clothing items. GIVE Denver volunteer Navigators work with their clients and provide A Precious Child shopping vouchers to those that are in need of additional clothing items. Additionally, the organization drops off donations of gently-used clothes to help us keep our Resource Center stocked.

We rely heavily on our Agency Partners to help increase the impact that we are able to have in Colorado. Partners like GIVE Denver are an essential piece of the work that we do, and we greatly appreciate their collaboration!
Thank you so much for giving so much heart and support to our organization. Together we can do more for children in need in Colorado.

Sincerely,

A Precious Child Staff
