Partnership Kickoff Benefits Denver Kids in Need
Coat Drive and Distribution Day in Partnership with DTP Helps Kids at Swansea Elementary School
Greg Amparano (left), Executive Project Director for DTP, and Phil Washington (right), General Manager for RTD, help Swansea Elementary Students Find the Perfect Coat!

Denver Transit Partners (DTP) and A Precious Child partnered on a coat drive to benefit students at Swansea Elementary school, which has 96% of its student body
on the Free or Reduced Lunch program.
Together we provided 108 coats for children to help spread the warmth during the Colorado winter. Volunteers from DTP and their partner, Regional Transportation District, and A Precious Child were present on distribution day as personal shoppers to help each child find the perfect coat.
We strive to provide basic needs for students at Swansea Elementary and many other local schools on site. There is always a need for new children's socks and underwear and gently used clothing, coats and shoes. Have some to donate? They can be delivered to our Resource Center at 557 Burbank Street, Unit E, Broomfield, CO 80020 or you can call for large quantity pickup at #(303) 466-4272.

Client Story: Aden & Heather

Aden's Foster Mom Cares for Aden with Help From A Precious Child and Support from YOU!
Little Aden is now 11-months old and is showing signs of improvement in his new home with foster mom, Heather, after having escaped a physically abusive situation in the home of his biological parents.

Aden's "modern family" also includes two teenage siblings, both of which have lost their mothers, and foster mom (and angel!), Heather. The family relies on A Precious Child for basic necessities, such as baby clothing for Aden and "adult" clothing for his teenaged siblings.
Heather and her family are so very appreciative of our help, and cannot imagine getting by during these tough times without our help. Together we can serve thousand of children like Aden and their families.

Agency Partner Highlight: Mercy Housing

Holly Park Apartments, A Mercy Housing Community, Does More Through Partnership with A Precious Child
Holly Park Apartments are a development managed by Mercy Housing that provides affordable housing to 429 residents, 230 of which are children.
One of 20 Precious Boutiques that A Precious Child hosts is at Holly Park Apartments
A few years ago, the staff learned of A Precious Child and the goods and services that we offer to children and families that need our help.
Holly Park Apartments became one of A Precious Child's 170+ agency partners and we have since established a Precious Boutique, which includes onsite and regularly-stocked clothing, shoes, coats and backpacks for children otherwise without access to basic needs.
Many Holly Park Apartment residents do not have access to reliable transportation and face many other challenges. Once per month, Holly Park Apartments arranges transportation for a group of head of households to travel together to A Precious Child and do the necessary shopping for their families.
Because of our partnership, Holly Park Apartment staff are able to focus their time and energy on other services needed in their community. Our support allows them to provide additional services, such as providing parenting classes for young adults, domestic violence awareness courses, after-school programs for youth and onsite counseling for mental health issues and substance abuse.
A Precious Child and Holly Park Apartments are better able to attend to the needs of the whole child thanks to our partnership. Together we are serving more disadvantaged and displaced children in Colorado.

Two Corporate Supporters Help Give Us a Makeover!

Two Generous Corporations Rally Behind A Precious Child and Help Give Us Needed Support in our Resource Center
The Home Depot & Hunter Douglas Support a Makeover for A Precious Child!
Recently both Hunter Douglas and The Home Depot provided improvements to our Resource Center for what was a much-needed makeover!
Hunter Douglas generously donated their time and materials to put up 40 new window shades in our Resource Center and adjacent building. A huge thank you to Lieha, Lonny, Drake & Jim for helping to install the shades and help bring new light (and shade!) to our Resource Center.
The Home Depot helped us with our carpet needs by giving us a huge discount on carpet and donating the labor for installation. The new carpet will allow us to expand our space and provide new services in a room that will soon be ready for use!
We are always looking for sponsors that can help improve the experience that we provide for our clients and increase the number of children that we serve. Interested in becoming a Corporate Partner? Please contact our Director of Development, Britta Robinson at britta@apreciouschild.org. Thank you!
Thank you so much for giving so much heart and support to our organization. Together we can do more for children in need in Colorado.
