Shellea Owens
Shellea has volunteered for A Precious Child since 2009, and has served as the "right hand woman" for our Director of Programs, Courtney Rogers, in implementing our Precious Gift program. Marrton Dormish and Mike Herzog of Refuge Church helped A Precious Child's Volunteer Community Liaison, Marty Covey, in coat pickup from Coats for Colorado at the Dependable Cleaners Warehouse.
The group completed three rounds of pickups and helped to provide warmth for chidren and families in need during this Colorado winter. |

Our 5th Annual Golf for A Precious Child tournament is now accepting sponsors for the event, which will take place at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield on Monday, June 17th at 9am.

The numbers are in! We are excited to announce that we have served nearly 21,000 children and their families in 2012. This number included more than 5,000 children through our Precious Gift program and more than 4,600 backpacks through our Fill A Backpack program.
We are committed to growing the number served in 2013 and we cannot do it without the partnership of our sponsors, donors and supporters. A Precious Child hosts signature events annually and partners with sponsors and supporters on other events throughout the year. We count on donated auction items for our fundraising efforts. It is an opportunity for donors to get exposure to the hundreds of individuals and businesses at our events.
Possible auction items include:
- Donating space at a vacation home and/or timeshare
- Offering professional services (interior design, consulting services, a commissioned piece of art, etc.)

| NEW Foundation Level Partner | |
Denver Transit Partners Generously Supports
A Precious Child in 2013  We are excited to announce that Denver Transit Partners (DTP) is a new foundational level sponsor for A Precious Child. DTP has committed to helping us serve more children in need in 2013.
The organization provided a $15,000 sponsorship to A Precious Child and is hosting a coat drive for Swansea Elementary school in downtown Denver to help kickoff our new partnership. A total of 96% of Swansea Elementary students are on the Free or Reduced Lunch program, and there is a huge need for coats and warm winter clothing during the Colorado winter. In addition to the sponsorship, DTP will provide volunteer support and event support for A Precious Child throughout the year.

Precious Gift Program Brings Joy to a Local Preschool

Thanks to our generous supporters, twelve students at Monarch Preschool were a small few of the more than 5,000 children that received gifts through our Precious Gift program during the 2012 holiday season. Monarch Elementary is in the bottom quartile in Colorado in terms of the number of students on free or reduced lunch. The children would have otherwise been without gifts, and were so excited and thankful to have a present this year! |
