Client Stories
The joy we see in our families after leaving A Precious Child is amazing, and we love to share some simple moments with you.
Tiffany Nichole Harper suffers from Multiple Sclerosis. The tremors and fatigue this disease causes her render her daily life quite challenging. Just when she'd learned to live with her condition she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which as she puts it "increased her medical bills and decreased her financial resources". Her medical expenses are too high to keep up with, and they certainly take resources away from her 11 year-old twins. We were glad she could bring her children here to ensure they have what they need to finish school strongly and start summer.

Like many people, Mee Ch ang would have never imagined being homeless, but an economic downturn forced her to move her family into a shelter. But her perseverance has paid off, she recently moved into an apartment with her boys and she has been able to begin filling the empty walls and cabinets with some household items she found at A Precious Child.
Mee feels very fortunate for her recent struggle. She feels that she has learned "valuable lessons on the love that people have shown (her family) without even knowing them at all". It's always beautiful to see a child smile after receiving a new toy, some clothing, or books. |
Fill A Backpack Volunteers Needed!
With this summer approaching us quickly we are looking for volunteers for our Fill A Backpack program. Last year with the help of the community we were able to provide 3,200 backpacks to disadvantaged and displaced children in Colorado. This year our goal is to help more than 4,000 get the tools they need to succeed in school and we need your help! We have a lot of great opportunities for you to help! If you are interested in hearing more about these volunteer opportunities contact megan@apreciouschild.org.

A Precious Child Volunteers Help With Inventory
It is not the most glamorous of volunteer projects, but our inventory days are essential to the success of our programs and organization. A Precious Child would like to thank all of our volunteers for helping us inventory $102,000 worth of donated goods at our Resource Center last week. We could not do it without your help, especially our large groups from Alexander Dawson School, The Colorado Tigers Baseball Team and Community Christian School. Thank you all so much for helping us do more for disadvantaged and displaced children in Colorado.
