Volunteer of the Month

Linda Schidmt

A Precious Child is happy to acknowledge Linda Schmidt as the Volunteer of the Month. Linda keeps A Precious Child up and running twice per month in the evenings to facilitate large groups of volunteers who could not otherwise come during regular business hours. Linda is usually accompanied by her Bible study group who are always ready and willing to help out in any way. The group does everything from fixing the hanger wall, to installing our fire extinguishers, to sorting and hanging clothing.

Linda thank you so much for your ongoing efforts and dedication to helping children and families in need!

Dear Supporters,

The numbers of children and families coming to A Precious Child in need of basic essentials is growing exponentially! A Precious Child is constantly forming new partnerships with community service organizations throughout the Denver Metro Area. These new partners refer their clients in need to obtain clothing and other essentials from A Precious Child. We ask you to please keep your donations of clothing, shoes, diapers, baby items, and sports equipment coming. Your donated items go directly into the hands of the children and families who are in the most need.

With the increased demand for our services, comes an even greater need for volunteers. If you and your family can find extra time this summer, please consider volunteering your time to help A Precious Child. Not only is it a great way to teach your children the importance of giving back, you will be helping to improve the lives of children and families who are struggling to make ends meet. A Precious Child relies on our volunteers. We cannot do what we do without you!

In addition to your donations of clothing and time, please remember that A Precious Child needs monetary support to maintain our six programs and services. Please consider making a financial donation to support A Precious Child or make a monthly financial commitment by joining A Precious Donor's club. Simply fill out A Precious Donor Form and return it to A Precious Child at 557 Burbank Street, Unit E. Broomfield, CO 80020. Your donation big or small will change a life for the better!

Sincerely,

Carina Martin

Client Stories

Having been into A Precious Child a few times before, Ariel loved coming in and playing with all of the toys. Her mom has been struggling as a
single mom providing for her family of five since her husband passed away last year. Being a very grown up 3 year old, Ariel would come to A Precious Child and pick out her own clothing while her mom shopped for the rest of the family. After getting several outfits for each family member, Ariel's mom told her that they were done shopping and that it was time to go home. After she picked out her favorite toy, Ariel began to cry. When asked why she was crying, a tearful Ariel simply replied that "I don't want to leave".

Victimized by domestic abuse, Sarah, left her husband two years ago. With four young children, she struggled to find a job. Having barely enough
money to pay for the gas to get to A Precious Child, Sarah was elated to be able to pick out clothing for her children and job appropriate clothing for herself as she is now interviewing for jobs. Her son, Jared, was picking out toys to take back home with him, when he picked out a stuffed animal as well and held it close to himself and said that he has terrible nightmares and that his new stuffed animal will help him sleep better at night.
