DU Volunteers!

A Precious Child thanks the students from the University of Denver who generously donated their Saturday afternoon to volunteer in our Central Clothing Bank! A Precious Child relies on volunteers to inventory, sort, and attractively display donated clothing and other essentials to create a shopping-like atmosphere for our clients. |
Key Bank Volunteers
Key Bank employees volunteered in A Precious Child's Central Clothing Bank as part of their 21st Annual Neighbors Make the Difference Day. Thank you, Key Bank, for caring about the community and doing something to make a difference. We are glad to have you as a community partner!

Client Stories

Having been into A Precious Child a few times before, Ariel loved coming in and playing with all of the toys. Her mom has been struggling as a single mom providing for her family of five since her husband passed away last year. Being a very grown up 3 year old, Ariel would come to A Precious Child and pick out her own clothing while her mom shopped for the rest of the family. After getting several outfits for each family member, Ariel's mom told her that they were done shopping and that it was time to go home. After she picked out her favorite toy, Ariel began to cry. When asked why she was crying, a tearful Ariel simply replied that "I don't want to leave".

Victimized by domestic abuse, Sarah, left her husband two years ago. With four young children, she struggled to find a job. Having barely enough money to pay for the gas to get to A Precious Child, Sarah was elated to be able to pick out clothing for her children and job appropriate clothing for herself as she is now interviewing for jobs. Her son, Jared, was picking out toys to take back home with him, when he picked out a stuffed animal as well and held it close to himself and said that he has terrible nightmares and that his new stuffed animal will help him sleep better at night.
