Dear Supporters,
We are running low on clothes! We have helped hundreds of children and families who are desperately in need, receive clothing that you have generously donated. Our clothing racks that were overflowing just weeks ago are looking quite bare.
Please keep us in mind as you do your spring cleaning. We are especially in need of clothing for boys sizes 8-12.
Thank you!
And the Chicken Wins by a Mile!
Actually, thanks to Chick-fil-A at Larkridge the real winners are the precious children in our community who are in desperate need of life's most basic necessities.
On Saturday, Chick-fil-A at Larkridge hosted their 1st Annual 5K run/walk to benefit A Precious Child. The event was an amazing success! A total of 153 participants (154 if you count the Chick-fil-A cow) walked and ran the 5K course raising approx. $4,000 for A Precious Child. The run/walk was a Bolder/Boulder qualifying race.
Community members, local businesses, Mayor Erik Hansen, walkers, runners and volunteers all came together to take part to make this a success. Carina Martin, executive director of A Precious Child said, "We owe a huge thank you to the Chick-fil-A at Larkridge for donating 100% of the proceeds to A Precious Child. Many children will benefit from their kindness and generosity."

A Precious Child Welcomes Our Newest DU Interns!
A Precious Child would like to welcome our newest marketing interns Gerri Shih and Yasmi Foo.
Gerri is from Taiwan. Currently, she is enrolled in the Master of Science Marketing program at the University of Denver. Her undergraduate degree is in International Trade. During her undergraduate studies Gerri realized that she had a strong interest in the field of marketing. Therefore, she applied to graduate school at DU and moved from Taiwan to Denver to advance her marketing knowledge.
Gerri taught English to children in Taiwan aged five to thirteen for a year. She also served as an interpreter at education fairs. Gerri said, "I am very lucky to be part of A Precious Child to help the disadvantaged children and bring hope to their futures."
Yasmi Foo is from Malaysia and is a Master of Science Marketing candidate at the University of Denver. Yasmi majored in Health Care Services at Taipei Medical University. Prior to joining A Precious Child's team, she volunteered for World Vision, Taiwan, in the Children's Department with responsibility for coordinating international personal sponsorship.
Yasmi said, "I appreciate this internship opportunity at A Precious Child and hope to make a positive contribution within the marketing field based on my knowledge and experiences."
A Precious Child is excited to have two highly motivated, intelligent, and compassionate students on our team. Yamsi and Gerri are in the process of developing our Facebook page. Please become our friend on Facebook for the latest news, pictures of our events, comments, and much more.

Volunteer of the Month
Kenny Sadowski |
Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life at A Precious Child it is not rare to hear our volunteer Kenny Sadowski repeatedly utter the phrase, "This is a worry-free zone". Kenny possesses a calmness that is reassuring and encouraging to everyone at A Precious Child. When Kenny is around we know that any computer glitches, handyman work and just about anything will be taken care of swiftly and easily. Kris, a fellow volunteer said,
"We appreciate the fact that he is so flexible and willing to tackle any project or problem that is presented to him."
Carina Martin agrees and sums it up by saying,
"We know that when there is a need,
he will be there."
Thank you Kenny! We are so grateful for your dedication to A Precious Child. |
