Happy Spring! As the semester winds down we want to congratulate you on your dedication to non-profits throughout Rhode Island. As a group you provide valuable services, develop ongoing programs and serve needy populations.

Diversity is a Way of L.I.F.E Conference

Diversity is a Way of L.I.F.E is a statewide conference presented by the Rhode Island College student organization L.I.F.E that brings together educators, students, artists and community-based activist's to develop and promote dialogue and diversity as a mode of social existence.
The conference is a safe forum in which participants will gain an opportunity to engage in dialogue, generate awareness of the issues and foster enthusiasm for addressing them, while providing a model that can be adapted for individual campus dialogue opportunities.
This year's conference is themed: Movements. It highlights historical and present alliances of people connected through their shared interest in affecting social change. Register Now! |
Be a Mentor at AS220!
Being a mentor is about sharing what you're good at. It's about giving a young person the skills they need to make it in the world. You'll form a one-to-one relationship with someone who can use some support and guidance on education and jobs.
Tech Mentors assist youth in learning the following computer skills: - Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- 3D modeling tools like Blender, Sculptris, and Z brush
- Modding existing video games
- Video Editing with basic tools like iMovie
- Basic computer literacy: Hardware, software, networking, and using the internet

Clean Up Roger Williams Park
In observance of Serve RI Week and Earth Day, AmeriCorps Members throughout RI will join together to clean up Roger Williams Park, Saturday April 21st 9:00AM - 12:00PM. This is a great chance to meet other members, support Serve RI, and gain more hours!

Become a Play Partner this Summer. Apply here
A Play Partner is a volunteer who is primarily responsible for observing and facilitating children's play experiences as well as providing resources for zoo patrons in the activity play spaces located within 'Our Big Backyard' exhibit. Volunteers will monitor a variety of play stations and deliver developmentally appropriate play based activities.
