Collaborative student restoration project at Straus Home Ranch protects streams and creates habitat
MALT is proud to be partners with the innovative STRAW Program (Students and Teachers Restore a Watershed) to bring eager youngsters to local farms and ranches to plant flora that helps stabilize stream banks and create habitat for nesting and migratory birds.The latest project brought Ross Valley students to the birthplace of MALT, Straus Home Ranch, where the kids worked on two streams and got a valuable, hands-on learning experience in the process. New "Fiscal Cliff" Legislation Restores Tax-free IRA gifts

 If you are 70½ or older, we have good news for you. You can roll over money from your IRA to make a gift to MALT----without paying tax on the withdrawal. If you act before

Mouth-watering sandwich is a celebration of locally produced food

Have you ever really thought about what goes into your sandwich? "About a Sandwich," a new short film by Josh Berry, highlights the local ingredients that become Perry's Inverness Park Grocery's West Marin Reuben. Described as a celebration of locally produced foods from this area's best farms and kitchens, the video introduces the farmers, ranchers, bakers and artisan cooks (including friends from MALT-protected ranches) who create this mouth-watering sandwich.
