Lots of buzz at Hesperus

If you are considering options for retirement living, you are no doubt familiar with the term "adult lifestyle communities."  Elegant marketing brochures promise endless sources of pleasure and entertainment,  To many of us, this seems a little hollow.  Of course we enjoy a good time and take our leisure seriously!  But is that enough?

My neighbour Jef Saunders recently attended the Walk With Me conference, which was all about building a contemporary vision of elderhood. In the talks and workshops, he learned about how many people are gradually changing the culture of aging.  It all sounds very inspiring, and Jef has agreed to share his report with us on Friday evening:

WE'RE NOT DONE YET! - CHANGING THE CULTURE OF AGING

Friday June 6, 7:00pm in the Hesperus Seminar Room

All are welcome - please join us!  (Sorry for the short notice!)

Also of interest...  The Angel of Memory -
A Soul Retreat with Robert Sardello

18-21 September in Rochester NY

...This Soul Retreat explores, through spiritualizing memory, the persons, places, dreams, the moments, when we have all experienced the breakdown of the illusory boundary between worlds. Through our very embodied and also spiritual explorations, we open the portal of the true import of this community - that it is for the spiritual furtherance of both the living and the dead, it is for the purpose of living as spiritual beings with the spiritual earth....

Motto of Social Ethics

It is only wholesome when
In the mirror of the Human Soul
the whole community takes shape
and in the community
lives the strength of individual soul
