 A Mystery Drama Atlas?

"Cloud Atlas gives basic insights into the workings of reincarnation and karma. Here's to hoping that the next Wachowski cinematic endeavor is a series of films titled Rudolf Steiner's Mystery Dramas." - From a movie review by Mark Jackson in The Epoch Times.

Letter from Arie van Ameringen

In this article I shall attempt to provide a brief summary of recent meetings and activities:
General Secretaries' Meeting: Our work together focused on the theme: The Being and the Life of the Anthroposophical Society.  This was also an opportunity to share news of the work being done in various regions of the globe...
The Work at the Goetheanum: ...The challenges involved in the renovation work on the Goetheanum reveal the dawning of a new impulse; not only will certain exterior structures be repaired, but the plans include redoing parts of the stage in order to provide a space for the School for Spiritual Science and to make it possible for the statue of the Representative of Man to at last be given its rightful place...
Our Relationship to Rudolf Steiner: ...We know that Rudolf Steiner united his personal karma with that of the Anthroposophical Society during the 1923/1924 Christmas Conference.  This deed must be contemplated with the greatest possible reverence, for it points to an immense sacrifice and implies that Rudolf Steiner cannot be separated from his creation...
The 2013 AGM Conference:  Our preparations for the AGM conference to be held from May 17th to 19th in Montral are well underway. Dennis Klocek will be the guest lecturer, and the conference theme is: The Challenge of our Social Will...

...As to our administrative work, we agreed that we would give a new impulse to the communications aspect in both its printed and electronic forms. We discussed how these elements could become a space for sharing activities across the country and for developing a sense of community.  We all agreed that it would be essential to develop a fully functional website for the Anthroposophical Society in Canada that could serve as a portal of introduction and would contain a link to ENews. The immediacy of this medium could perhaps best reflect the rapidly developing activity in Canada. On the other hand, concerning printed publications, Glimpses is undergoing a transformation and will contain research articles requiring more reflection time on the part of the reader...Read full article.
Library Project

by Dorothy LeBaron, for the Council

The Council of the Anthroposophical Society in Canada discussed the question of the National Library at the last meeting in Vancouver, fall 2012. We looked at the history of the Library, at how it is currently being used, and at future possibilities for the Library. We identified a need to organize a core group that would come together and care for the transition to the next step for the Library....Read full article

Projet Bibliothque

Chase - Report by Michael Roboz on a talk by Bert Chase at the recent Open House of the Rudolf Steiner Centre Vancouver

Rudolf Steiner...stressed that unless we are able to transform the forming principles at work in our environments then the archaic principles embodied in them will create increasing hindrances not only for the development of anthroposophical life but for human development as a whole. The spaces that we inherit from the past will stand in the way of the anthroposophical work we do to transform culture. Read full article.

The keynote lectures given at the major Dornach english-speaking conference in 2010, 'Entering the 21st Century Spiritually', have been published as a book by Rudolf Steiner Press privately, under the auspices of the Anthroposophical Society.   This was carried out at the request of the UK Society so that members who were unable to go to Dornach could be provided with a copy.   The Council of ASC has acquired copies for distribution to groups and branches across Canada, with the aim of making the book accessible to all members who wish to read it....Read full article.

The Art Of Being

Michael Lipson - notes by Kathleen Edmison from a workshop with Dr. Michael Lipson (22-23 September, 2012 in Barrie ON)

...More questions arose...Why are we here?  God wanted to show what He could do.  The etymology of the word God is rooted in the word pour.  Our minds are always 'pouring'....could the chatter in our heads begin to give way to an effortless streaming of consciousness that is of a higher intuitive order?  Ease rather than effort is the watchword here.  Everything in the worldis pouring towards us eternally and it echoes in our stream of consciousness.  To be happy is to be in harmony with the happening of the universe, remarked Dr. Lipson. He also memorably said, Effortlessness takes work and You cannot be somebody until you know you are nobody...
