Eurythmy Piece Commissioned By Cambridge Music Conference
 | Maren Stott |
This eurythmy performance is a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of eurythmy. It is part of the Cambridge Music Conference in Vancouver BC (website) I am planning to attend, and I hope to see some of you there...Ed.
'Truth Threatens Mercy Threatens Justice Threatens Peace' by Canadian composer Janet Danielson was inspired by the work of international peacebuilder John Paul Lederach and by former Judge Barry Stuart's work with sentencing circles. Lederach's moral fable 'The Meeting Place' speaks of how mercy, peace, truth and justice are all essential to the process of reconciliation. Read full description. Poster

Here is the first report from the Open House for the newly renovated Rudolf Steiner Centre in North Vancouver on 21 October 2012. Be sure to look at the pictures too! (see link below.) A second article by Bert Chase will appear in the next issue...Ed.
Opening Address given by Marjorie Thatcher
...We are fortunate to own a centre in Canada devoted to the work of anthroposophy. It is with gratitude that we acknowledge Steven and Helga Roboz, along with others who in 1969 founded the first Centre on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver. We are building on their legacy. In the late 1980's the Centre moved to a house on Keith Road in North Vancouver. Then, due to zoning restrictions on that site, we moved to this location in the Delbrook Plaza. Rhoda Meier and Mary Speck worked to make that move possible. We thank them for finding and first creating this space that has served us for many years.
May this renovated and beautiful space, with its large library and kitchen make possible new opportunities for anthroposophical activity. We trust that everyone will contribute to support it. Read full article. Pictures. (Click on "slide show" for best results.)

As many of you may know, RSCT has had to delay the opening of our Waldorf Teacher Education Program by two months (fearing we might have to cancel it entirely) while we dealt with the Ontario Ministry of Trainings, Colleges and Universities request for registration. We have just received confirmation from them that our Program can proceed (exempt from ministry regulation!) under two new titles:

Toward a Bibliography of Rudolf Steiner
- by Mark McAlister
"I'd like to buy a copy of Occult Science by Rudolf Steiner."
"I'm sorry, it's out of print."
This dialogue happened recently in a Waldorf School bookstore. (English-language editions of this book are in fact available, even though the US edition is out or print at the moment.) Even experienced booksellers and librarians have difficulty keeping track of our vast and complex literature. You might think that Internet search engines and database tools would help, but they only seem to be making things worse. It's all so confusing!
In this article, I will discuss some of the bibliographical issues involved with Rudolf Steiner's work, and give some guidelines for making sense of it all. I hope this will be helpful - not only for experienced anthroposophists - but for anyone wanting to learn more about anthroposophy. Please offer your comments and suggestions so we can continue to make improvements to our library services.

Urals Conference 2013
The theme of the conference will be "The Urals: the Border, the Crossroads, and the Meeting." At the eurythmy conference held in St. Petersburg in August 2010, Sergei Prokofiev recommended that we combine Anthroposophic spiritual research with a study of our local geography and history. Read initial Notice. More Pictures.
