Things at Bonnie Mohr Studio are in full motion for a great new year. Happy 2014 everyone! The holiday decorations have resumed their spot high on the third shelf of the storage room, the new marketing plan is almost in place and I only have 4 more pounds of holiday weight to drop. (The food gets me every year....but always worth it : )) My resolution for the new year is quite simple - make more time to paint. Painting makes me happy, relaxed and extremely fulfilled. Removing some of the clutter and noise from my life, reorganizing my studio and house, and vowing to "shop and antique" less are all a part of my new game plan. How about you? My advice: keep it simple. The more I live, the more I realize that it really is true...less is more. I am currently working on completing a couple new paintings (which you will see soon) and am also in the midst of writing the manuscript for a children's book I am working on! I am super excited and have long awaited the right idea for a children's book. Stay tuned... Planning ahead....please enjoy browsing our new website www.bonniemohr.com for the perfect Valentine's gift. Your sweetie will appreciate the no-calorie options and everything is guaranteed to fit! Enjoy the calm winter days....the gardens will be calling soon! Shine on - Bonnie

Tator tot hot dish has been around since the beginning of time - right? Yet, it is one of our family favorites....it is just so darn good, so I thought I would share our favorite Minnesota recipe for it. Enjoy. We made this big roaster of it just the other night. (By the way, you can substitute other vegetables if you prefer something else over corn.)
Minnesota Tater Tot Hot Dish
 1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
3/4 tsp. salt
1 pinch black pepper
1 T. basil
Garlic powder to taste
1 large bag frozen corn
1 pkg. (32 oz) tater tots, thawed
1 can (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 can (10.75 oz) cream of celery soup
1 can (10.75 oz) cream of chicken OR cream of cheese soup
1 T. sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet, cook ground beef with onion, salt and pepper, basil and garlic; drain and spread into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish or casserole. Layer frozen corn on top of this. If you use the cream of chicken soup, you can "cheese up" your recipe by adding a layer of cheese slices here, or shredded cheese, to cover the surface layer of corn. Add tater tots on top. In a separate bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, and cream of chicken soup together with 2 cans of milk and 1 tablespoon sugar. Whisk smooth and pour mix over dish. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
