 If cows could talk, I would love to hear their stories about all the excitement going on for June Dairy Month! As dairy farmers ourselves, it is a special month around our place. It's a time we celebrate the love we have for this industry and being at the heart of it all with our daily ritual of milking cows! I dedicate this newsletter to everyone in the dairy industry, providing wonderful nutritious products to the world marketplace, but most of all, to dairymen and women who love, care for, and tend to the milking and chores that need to be done every single day of the year. We at Bonnie Mohr Studio are celebrating too with a photo contest (thank you for all the entries already in!) and a 10% discount on all dairy artwork!
Our summer is in full swing. Daughter number 3 is graduated, has completed the ceremony, commencement, program and party - she is happy, thrilled to be named Valedictorian, and is packing for college!! Life is filled with magic and wonder - the graduation of a child being one of the most magical and wondrous of all. One day she's a baby in the stroller, the next, she's an adult walking out the door and into her own life! It is a bittersweet moment for us both....Congratulations Taylor!
The busy pace of life on the home front, and behind the scene's work of creating a new website (a little behind, but hoping to launch in a couple of weeks) and social media program, has had a lingering affect on my painting productivity. I hope you will be patient with me as I gear up to get back at it! I have a ton of new things to paint, and will be working hard to make up for lost ground. Thanks for your support and kind words on Facebook, I appreciate all the supportive messages.

We recently received some wonderful candid pasture scenes from our friend Julia, and it prompted a great idea to celebrate JUNE DAIRY MONTH with Bonnie Mohr Studio!
Yes, it's hard to believe, but it's that time of year again... so in honor of our dairy farmers and their dedication and hard work towards feeding America, we are hosting a
"Share Your Favorite Dairy Photo" Contest on our Facebook page for the month of June! Here is your chance to celebrate all things dairy! "Like" our Facebook page and e-mail us your favorite dairy photo - whether it's a newborn calf, a picturesque farm scene, or a dairy glamour shot - be creative!
Rules: We will choose one winner each Friday who will receive an 8×10 mini-print of their choice and at the end of the month, the four weekly winners will be posted for voting, and the grand prize winner will receive a $100 gift certificate redeemable at Bonnie Mohr Studio! In a recent interview with Family Christian, Bonnie shares her beliefs and success in life, family and career. Here is an excerpt from her interview...
"I think we live in a world today that's more of a disposable, fast-paced, instant gratification type of world, and unfortunately our younger generations are learning that they have the ways and the means to have what they want instantly, and so much, too. Fortunately, that's not the way I grew up, because that's really not the way it works when it comes to really great things in life. Really good things require hard work, dedication and persistence, and they require having a dream and, of course, conviction. That's sort of the moral of my story, I guess, since nothing has come easy for me either. But I had, and still have, the desire to be successful. My belief, as I've said, is that if you work hard and pray about what you're pursuing-and if you persist-you will probably succeed".

SPINACH ORANGE SALAD
From the kitchen of Bonnie Mohr
Dressing:1/4 cup vegetable oil 2 Tbsp white sugar 2 Tbsp white vinegar 1 Tbsp snipped parsley 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper Dash Tabasco sauce 1/4 cup sliced almonds 4 tsp white sugar Fresh spinach, washed, dried and chilled (enough for 6-8 people) 1 cup thin bias-cut celery 2 Tbsp chopped green onion tops 1 can(11 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained Combine dressing ingredients; cover. Shake well and refrigerate. Place almonds and sugar in small skillet. Stir over medium heat watching closely until almonds are golden brown. Remove to small bowl; cool. Place spinach in large salad bowl. Add celery, green onion and oranges. At serving time, add dressing and almonds; toss lightly. Yield: 6-8 servings.
