Users that need to obtain a Controlling Health Plan (CHP) or Health Plan Identifier (HPID) will go through the CMS Enterprise Portal, access the Health Insurance Oversight System (HIOS), and apply for an HPID from the Health Plan and Other Entity System (HPOES).The deadline for obtaining the health plan identifier is November 5, 2014. EEOC Lawsuit Challenges Flambeau, Inc. Over Wellness Program

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

  

Madison, WI - Flambeau, Inc., a Baraboo, WI-based plastics manufacturing company, is alleged to have violated federal law by requiring an employee to submit to medical testing and assessment in connection with a "wellness program" or face dire consequences. That violated the Americans with Disabilities Act, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed yesterday. Read the full article here.

SCOTUS Clears Way For Gay Marriage in Five States

The Washington Post

 

The Supreme Court has declined to hear cases pertaining to same-sex marriage in Virginia, Utah, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Indiana, meaning that gay couples can immediately begin marrying in those states.

 

In refusing to hear the cases, however, the court avoided having to make a decision that would be binding for all 50 states. Click here for the full article.
