The Department of Labor, Health and Human Services (HHS) and Treasury (collectively, the "Departments") issued an 18th set of frequently asked questions about the Affordable Care Act, including issues raised by that law's intersection with the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), as well as a grab-bag of other issues. A summary of some of the points covered in the FAQs was developed.

New Guidance on Participation by Same-Sex Spouses in Certain Employee Benefit Plans



A new set of questions and answers expands on previous IRS guidance announcing that same-sex couples,
legally married in jurisdictions that recognize their marriages, will be treated as married for all federal purposes.
