IMPORTANT: Notice of Exchange Options Delayed
On January 24, 2013 the DOL released FAQs which confirm a delay in providing the Exchange Notice. See the answer to question 1, which states, "The Department of Labor expects that the timing for distribution of notices will be the late summer or fall of 2013, which will coordinate with the open enrollment period for Exchanges." Employers were originally required to provide a notice to their employees by March 1, 2013.
Other topics in the FAQs address health reimbursement arrangements, disclosure of information related to firearms, employer group waiver plans supplementing Medicare Part D, fixed indemnity insurance and payment of PCORI fees.
