IMPORTANT: Incentives for Nondiscriminatory Wellness Programs in Group Health Plans
On November 26, 2012, the Obama Administration published a series of proposed rules implementing many of the Affordable Care Act's (ACA's) most important insurance reforms, including Health Insurance Market Rules and Rate Review; Nondiscriminatory Wellness Programs in Group Health Plans; and Standards Related to Essential Health Benefits, Actuarial Value, and Accreditation.

The proposed regulations amend final regulations from 2006 on HIPAA's nondiscrimination provisions, and make other changes to the five "consumer-protection conditions" that such programs must satisfy. Click here for a brief summary of the key changes under the proposed regulations implementing the Act's "Incentives for Nondiscriminatory Wellness Programs in Group Health Plans."
