Today we're going to keep it short because we want you to take the time to look through the photos we're sharing (click on the photos to take you to their respective galleries).

Imaginate Week

Because our 5th-8th graders have their Engineering and Design classes in The Imaginate Center, they have regular opportunities to imagine, design and build. Although our younger students enjoy occasional visits, Makerspace Program Director Michele Archer wanted to give them a bigger opportunity to experience our Makerspace program.

Working with classroom teachers, specialists and administrators,
Mrs. Archer put together a week of special hands-on projects: everything from creating kites and racetracks for marbles to designing a class quilt to making fingerpaint (right) and modeling dough to pro-gramming our mini-robots, Dash and Dot - and many other exciting options!

Everyone agreed that it was great fun to learn new skills while - literally - putting their hands into their projects!

Magic Tree House: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens

Did you ever wonder how notable authors find their inspiration? In Magic Tree House: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens, our 5th graders shared the 'back story' of Charles Dickens' great novels.

With visits from hungry orphans, heartless rich people, and the ghosts of - you guessed it - the past, present and future, Mr. Dickens got all the fodder he needed to craft his classic tales.

And bravo to the Class of 2019 - their production was originally scheduled for late January but Old Man Winter intervened, so they had to regroup for this past weekend's performances. As one of them said, they 'pulled together as a team' to get the job done.

And this week on Facebook...

Well technically it was last week, but did you catch the 6th graders' performance of "Shake It Off" at our recent Spring Pep Rally? They had all the right moves! Click on the photo to see the video!

Thanks and enjoy your week - see you on Thursday evening
(6:30-7:30 p.m.) for our grades 3-8 Student Work Showcase!
