Greetings,

Happy Groundhog Day! Apparently Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and has predicted another six weeks of winter (but the National Climatic Data Center says he has shown 'no talent for predicting the arrival of spring'). So maybe spring really is right around the corner...

Today we bring you a peek at a new Swain feature, "Humans of Swain", based on the popular blog "Humans of New York".

Ms. Armstrong has initiated this feature on the Swain School Library blog - go there to see all the HOS postings (this is just a sampling); you can also sign up to receive notifications of updates so you won't miss any new ones.

Just as Phil 'sighted' his shadow, we hope you enjoy these 'sightings' of members of the Swain community, with questions and photos done primarily by our students.

If you could meet anyone in the world from any time in history,
who would you want to meet?

The Wright Brothers.

Is today your first time skiing?
Yes!
Are you excited?
Yes.
Are you nervous?
Well, I am afraid of heights.

If you could have one wish for anything in the entire world,
what would it be?
That everyone would be equal and for world peace.

What is the best thing you ever did?
Going down a water slide at Emmaus Community Park
because it was the first time and it was a memorable fun moment.

If you had one wish, what would it be?

To get a guitar.
Why would you want a guitar?
Guitar is my favorite and it makes lovely noise.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An actress or a dolphin trainer.

What are you most scared of?
 Guns.

If you could do anything in the world, what would you do?
Go to Colombia.
Why?
Because my Grandma lives there, and she has toys!

"Get it at Target - The High Dish Reacher!"

Who is your invention for?
Old men. They need help reaching things on the top shelf.

What about old women?
No.

What about kids?
No. They can climb on the counter and old men can't.

See all "Humans of Swain" postings on
the Swain School Library blog!

Thanks for reading, and have a great week!
