April 21, 2013
Greetings,
We've been working on it for months, and with everyone's help we proudly present the 21st annual Auction & Dinner Gala - "Come Fly with Us!" - next Saturday night!
The Auction is the largest fund raising event of the Swain year - and whether you attend Saturday's event or not, you can be a part of it - read on!
Planning to attend?
The past two years we've sold out all 200 tickets, and we're close to that number again - so if you're planning to attend you need to RSVP right away to Auction Coordinator Kimberly Ike - send her an email or call her at 610-433-4542, ext. 130.
The fun starts at 6 p.m., and while the Band of Make Believe sets the mood, attendees will enjoy browsing the Silent Auction during the Cocktail Hour. Then it's off to a delicious dinner and more enter-tainment by singer Matt James and the debut of our very popular video highlighting the Live Auction items.
It's a wonderful night to see your Swain friends - meet new ones - and celebrate all that's great about our school.
Can't make it? There are more ways to support the Auction...
Whether you come or not, you can bid on any of our fabulous items by submitting an Absentee Bid Form (due by Friday at noon).
Teacher Treasures
The Swain teachers and staff love to put on their thinking caps to come up with fun outings and adventures for the students. From hiking to theatre outings, making 'Worry Dolls' to choosing your own locker or menu, special parking privileges to classroom 'pets' - there's something special for everyone!
For example, Mrs. Burns - Swain's Director of Communications - offers the opportunity to help her take photos as the "Swain Photographer for the Day". At last year's Auction, second grader Bryce and Kindergartner Zachary were the lucky winners. Click on this photo of Zachary's class that he took, to see all their terrific pictures!
Classroom Classics
If you stop by the Small Dining Room this week, you will see a display of all the beautiful projects each class created.
Books of poetry, memories and photos - a bronze mirror embellished with wax sculptures - a hand print ottoman - blown glass bowl - original art - and, along with many others, this handmade guitar (right), crafted by the fifth grade class.
Feeling lucky?
"Somebody's gotta win - might as well be you!" We're raffling off two great prizes: a voucher for $1000 off your Swain tuition, and an iPad. Stop by the Main Office and Raina will sell you the winning ticket!
