Welcome to this week's edition of Swain Stories - featuring some of the highlights of our week, as well as student news!

This week on SmugMug

"SmugMug" is our online photo gallery, and many of our teachers use it to share photos of their classroom and extra-curricular activities. It's accessible from the front page of our website - click on "Photos" in the upper right corner.

Writing + Buddies = A Great Combination!

buddies The budding writers in Mrs. McClary's and Miss Zataveski's Kindergarten class shared their words with their third grade buddies from across the hall in Miss Young's class. Check out the Kindergartners' prophecies of "If I were 100 years old..." on their bulletin board!

Fun with math

The middle school scholars gathered mathwith their parents for our popular annual "Family Math Night" on Thursday. In addition to demonstrating several math problems, the students partnered with the adults to try out the iPads (as Dhruv and Arnav's mom did, right) and other math brain teasers.

We love PJ Day!

PJDay Mrs. Gaugler's first graders filled up their marble jar again for great classroom behavior and earned a pajama day!

They had a lot of fun wearing their pajamas to school and bringing in their very favorite stuffed animals.

 And science scholars are celebrated

PJAS

The seventh- and eighth grade students who recently participated in PJAS (the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science) gathered to celebrate their accomplishments!

Among the 18 students who created a scientific hypothesis, tested it, and presented it at the regional competition in Easton, 14 earned first place awards and four received second place. Amazing results!

Next stop for Mrs. Debbie Lindsay's students is the state PJAS competition in May, where the first place awardees will again compete.
