February is Dental Health Month

First grade students enjoyed a visit to Dr. Mary Cresseveur-Reed's dental office, to learn more about dental health and what a dentist does.
Dr. Mary is the mom of Paul '14 and Milo '16, and has been offering these field trips to Swain students since her boys were small.
Let 'er rip!
Fifth grade science teacher Cyndi Bardman

challenged her students to create a "transporter" to safely carry a raw egg from a second story drop to the ground.
On a chilly February day, Mr. Armstrong braved the elements to launch their creative enterprises from the roof. Duct tape, shredded paper, bubble wrap, plastic bags and tennis balls were just some of the items they used - and yes, some were successful!
Junior gymnasts

The Prekindergarten teachers recently took their students to Parkettes to experience the world of gymnastics. Make sure you check out these very cute photos of our students enjoying some of the interesting pieces of equip-ment; click

They've zipped by...
Since the beginning of the school year,

our Kindergarten students have been counting the days. When they hit 100, it was time to celebrate! They did so in song (with Mrs. Rush's help), story (with Mrs. K-B's and Miss Bindergarten's help), and snacks (the famous "Gorp", made up of 35 donations of 100 pieces of tiny food items).
And make sure you check out their 100 day projects - each student created a visual representation of 100, and they are really creative and original!
