Citizens Project Raises over $51,000 at Annual Breakfast
More than 500 community members gathered to create community and celebrate diversity at Citizens Project's tenth annual Creating Community Breakfast.
Many attendees have asked to see some of the speakers' remarks. This month, we're delighted to share with you Emma Brachtenbach's poem, "We Are Not So Separate."

Staff Spotlight: Anya Arndt, Associate Director
Anya Arndt joined the Citizens Project staff as an intern in the summer of 2012 and returned in 2013 for a yearlong Public Interest Fellowship. At the end of her tenure as Public Interest Fellow in May 2014, Arndt was offered a permanent position as Associate Director with Citizens Project.
Anya graduated from Colorado College with a major in Religion and a minor in Middle East Studies. From a young age, she found that she possessed a particular passion for people and for equality, which lead her to pursue interests in inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue. As she worked through college, these interests were broadened further as she spent time in the West Bank and worked with an organization that promoted reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.
This fall, Arndt will apply her passion and skill to a yearlong teach abroad program in Beirut, Lebanon. Though her time with Citizens Project will be too short, Anya has made a significant and lasting impact in the Pikes Peak region and looks forward to returning to Colorado in the future.
