In late February, Holocaust survivor Anita Dittman received an award at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB):
Heroine of the Faith: Crown of Life Award
Rich Bott, president and CEO of Bott Radio Network, said the award is based on the Bible verse James 1:12, which reads, "Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."

Bott believes that verse exemplifies Dittman's ordeal as a girl in Nazi Germany.
"We're excited to be able to present Anita as a living witness to not only the evil that took place, but also the saving grace of Jesus Christ and how He provided and protected her, so that she could be a witness to our generation of what happened," Bott said.
Bott had just returned from a visit to Auschwiz concentration camp. Upon his return, he heard Anita interviewed on Jan Markell's radio program, "Understanding the Times". The program airs on the Bott Radio Network.
Dittman credits her faith in Jesus with helping her make it through the Holocaust.
World Net Daily (WND) has updated the book and made a documentary accompanying film, 75 minutes in length. Jan Markell wrote the book for Tyndale House in 1979. It has gone into the hands of other publishers since then including Gospel Publishing House and Lighthouse Trails.

It was announced at National Religious Broadcasters that the producer of the documentary, George Escobar, will pursue the production of a full-length feature film in the coming year or two. More funds need to be raised.
Anita Dittman had ten national and international radio and TV interviews at the National Religious Broadcasters. She and Jan Markell also reminded people that the same mistakes are being made today as were made in Nazi Germany. From the rise in anti-semitism to the desire to let government become god, there are many, many comparisons to the two generations.
