A Message From Our President
Living the virtues Jesus taught us is core to our Catholic Identity here at SJSC. These particular virtues are the ones that give us strength and hope through any situation. There are many of our families and staff members who are struggling with health issues and life's challenges. I pray that this small thought reaches all of us knowing that with Jesus at the center of our lives, and us making every effort to practice these virtues, we can make it through anything.

2016 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
We are happy to announce and would like to congratulate our Valedictorian for St. Junipero Serra Catholic School Class of 2016
Miss C. Bonin and our
Salutatorian Miss M. Andrew.

We are so very proud of both girls and their accomplishments. They truly represent our Charism, Vision and Mission with our SLEs.

Parish Visits
Thank you to all our families who stopped by our SJSC tables after Mass this past weekend. We enjoyed seeing you all and meeting some of the other parishioners from our parishes.

Marian Mass Tomorrow, Friday, May 20
Please join us for our Annual May Crowning & Marian Mass tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in the Student Activity Center as we witness this beautiful sacrament for our Second Grade students. Mass will be celebrated by Father Thomas Naval of Santiago de Compostela. The Second Grade Communicants will also lead us through the Rosary Prayer.

This is a formal uniform day for ALL students except for TK and Kindergarten. Parking is available in the neighborhood but NOT in the Memorial Health Care parking lot.

Missionary Childhood Association
Thank you to all of our St. Junipero Serra Catholic families who continue to support the Missionary Childhood Association by making a small contribution at each of our Masses. Your child's homeroom has a mason jar to collect contributions throughout the month for Mass. Thank you again for reaching out to the world's most vulnerable children with your prayers, your sacrifices, and your intentions.

Outreach Ministries Acknowledgments
On behalf of myself, Mrs. Dubeau and the PTO board, we would like to thank our Outreach Ministries team for their very important and hard work this year.  You are all truly the hands of our Lord at St. Junipero Serra Catholic School.  You have touched the hearts of children, parents and staff, as well as those in our parishes and at Catholic Charities.  Thank you to the following women for their incredible servant leadership:

Teacher Appreciation Week: Semra Noguiera and Jamie Medley
Partners in Prayer: Alessandra Brus
Parish Happenings: Julie Murphy
Rosary: Joan Gonzales
Lenten Retreat: Melissa Driscoll
Adopt-a-Family: Carol Lawson
Ambassador Program: Kara Bell and Cheryl Redfern

You are incredible examples of faith in action.

Congratulations to our Serra Bear Super Stars!
It's been an incredible week for our Serra Bears!

I am very proud to announce that Coach Marlon Woolforde's Grade 1-4 Track and Field team won the Elementary Level Large School title with a total of 325 points at the PAL Championship last weekend and that Coach Rich Epping and the 7th-Grade Co-ed Soccer team won their game last evening with a score of 4-1, bringing home the championship trophy. Our SJSC athletes certainly demonstrated what being SerraStrong is all about.

It has been an amazing year for all of our SJSC Sports teams. I wish to thank personally the dedicated team coaches and parent volunteers for being true role models who always give so generously of their time and talent. Because of them, our sports programs are growing; our athletes are developing confidence, improving their talents and building life-long friendships along the way.

A huge thank you to all of our Serra Bear athletes who showed their school spirit by working and playing hard throughout the season and also for their steadfast determination and dedication to their team. We are so proud of you all. GO, BEARS!

God is Good...All the Time,

Angeline Trudell

  • engage in meaningful activities that inspire thoughtful conversation, discussion, and debate;
  • share ideas and collaborate on projects;
  • develop important lifelong skills to help them think critically, build knowledge, effectively communicate, and strategically use technology in order to formulate and defend their own perspectives.
Math enVisionmath 2.0 Common Core by Pearson focuses on a problem-solving experience that introduces lesson concepts and procedures, leading to deep conceptual understanding. 2016-2017 Ambassador Program -
A Way to Help Welcome Our New St. Serra Families!

Last night, the PTO Board had the pleasure of meeting many of our new families for the 2016-2017 school year at the annual PTO New Family Information Night. One of the highlights of being a new family is having the opportunity to connect with our Ambassador Program. The PTO Board is very grateful to our incoming PTO VP Outreach Ministries, Robin Torriero, who will be overseeing this program. We would also like to introduce our incredible 2016-17 Ambassador Program Chairs:

Preschool - Second Grade: Candace Purvis and Allison Finnegan
Third - Eighth Grade: Cheryl Redfern and Kara Bell

This heart-filled team is planning a wonderful ministry that meets with new families during the summer, guides them through Business Day, and stays connected with them throughout the coming school year. If you'd like to learn more or get involved in the SJSC Ambassador Program, please contact Robin Torriero at [email protected].
