A former client of ours had SEO growth like I had never seen before. Year-over-year their organic traffic jumped from around 450 visitors to 2,000 a month. That's over 400% growth in just one year! In my 13+ year career in online marketing and SEO I don't ever remember seeing a single website do so well in such a relatively amount of time. Typically 20-30% growth in a year is more than enough to make clients happy.

The other day I was talking with one of our SEO clients and they wanted to know if there was any way they could turn this trip their CEO was taking to NYC to attend an invite-only roundtable into some SEO success. Since the roundtable was closed to the media the usual event promotion activities, the speaker bios, and event recap blog posts (all potential sources of links) were out.

In many cases, a company doesn't set up a blog on their website until it gets started with an SEO campaign. Until the company understands the importance of content and how an active blog can correlate with SEO success, blogging isn't often part of the equation mostly because there is only so much time in the day. However, sometimes clients with no prior SEO experience do come to us with an existing blog.
