FACULTY WORKLOAD FORM AMBUSHES FACULTY

The faculty has been ambushed by a surprise FACULTY WORKLOAD FORM which is in violation of the Collective Bargaining Agreements for both the TT&T and Lecturer faculty. This form is not authorized or required by either Collective Bargaining Agreement. More specifically, this form refers to a "Statement of Equivalence" and a "Workload Criteria" which are NOT part of our current contract. Furthermore, it appears the purpose of the form is to limit workload to teaching, which is in violation of our TT&T Collective Bargaining Agreement as it defines workload as teaching, professional activities, and service, as well as violating our Lecturers' Collective Bargaining Agreement, which defines workload as teaching plus core & non-core duties. In addition, this new form specifies that the service load will offset teaching load only by approval of the Provost or Chancellor, another violation of the current contract.
Faculty in both units are advised NOT TO SIGN this FACULTY WORKLOAD FORM.
We must stick together as a faculty and not allow the Jacobs Administration to run over the faculty. The BOT can pass resolutions and new workload criteria, but they do NOT supersede the current contract.
