Gary Small from Aikido of Maine

Have you ever seen an advertisement for an Aikido school and had no idea what one might do there?Have you been curious about what Aikido is and the benefits it could have on your health and well-being? We recently caught up with Aikido of Maine owner Gary Small to learn more about this form of peaceful martial arts and the studio he co-owns with his wife Ania in Portland.

And if you're equally interested in other forms of peaceful martial arts, like Taijiquan (Tai Chi) and Qigong, then check out our feature article from the 2015 SunriseGuide "The peaceful martial arts: Using the art of war to create peace."
