New Incentives & Rebates for Home Efficiency Upgrades!
Efficiency Maine is rolling out a new suite of incentives to help Maine homeowners reduce heating costs and improve energy efficiency. Qualified homeowners can receive up to $1,500 toward the cost of qualifying energy upgrades to a home's insulation or heating system. Homeowners may work with their contractor to develop a custom energy-saving project or may select from a menu of eligible measures. Learn more.
They are also offering $500 rebates for residential electric Heat Pumps that are installed between now and June 30, 2014. Click here for more details.

ecomaine School Recycling Grants
ecomaine is currently offering grants up to $10,000 to help fund school recycling programs. The grant money can be used to start a new program or grow an existing one, and both public and private schools of any grade level are eligible. Schools must be sited in a municipality affiliated with ecomaine to be eligible, and grant requests can be for any amount (up to $10,000). Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2013. Grants Available for Water Bottle Filling Stations
The Portland Water District (PWD) recently announced a grant program that offers free water bottle filling fountains to local entities. "Response to the water bottle filling fountains has been overwhelmingly positive," stated PWD Board President Guy Cote, "So we have created a progressive program to further encourage easy access to tap water within our community. This is a first, I am not aware of another water utility doing this." Grant applications are due October 31st. Learn more.

No Impact Week
