Calling All Locavores!
This Saturday, August 10th, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will be hosting its 5th Annual Backyard Locavore Day from 10am-4pm. Your day will be self-directed and there are fourteen sites in Southern Maine to visit. Demonstrations will focus on backyard gardening techniques, food preservation methods, and more. See backyard poultry and honeybees at work, plants of all sizes and varieties, techniques for container gardening and square foot gardening, and enjoy "Preserving the Harvest" demonstrations with food samples. A Lobster Tale
