 2013 Evening Land Pinot Noir
Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This soft, lifted, classic Oregon Pinot should sell for 40 bucks. We're offering it at the lowest-in-country price of $23.99!
Evening Land winemakers/owners Sashi Moorman and Raj Parr are currently at the reigns of one of Oregon's hottest properties. Located in the Willamette Valley sub-region of Eola-Amity Hills, Evening Land was founded in 2007. Since then, a veritable who's who in the world of Oregon and Burgundy winemaking has been involved - Master Sommelier Larry Stone, famed Burgundy celebrity winemaker Dominique Lafon, former Screaming Eagle owner Charles Banks and now Raj Parr and Sashi Moorman. What draws so many renowned people to this special place? The incredible land, of course.
Evening Land is home to one of the world's most famous vineyard sites, Seven Springs. Situated in southeastern Eola-Amity Hills, the 80 acre Seven Springs Vineyard is dry-farmed using biodynamic practices. The vineyard's soil consists of iron-rich, volcanic rock with a thin layer of top soil - less than 36 inches, right along the volcanic flow line. The combination of the Pacific Ocean breeze, volcanic soil, eastern exposure and high elevation contribute to the natural preservation of the grapes' acidity and enrich the wines with elegant flavors and minerality.
The 2013 Eola-Amity Hills bottling contains a good amount of Seven Springs Vineyard fruit and is mouthwateringly delicious, earning 91 points score on our scale. This is classic Oregon Pinot Noir in a classic Oregon vintage, with lovely red fruits, earth and mineral flavors along with a soft-yet-tense structure. Here's the Wine Spectator review: "Light and polished, with a nubby texture underlying the transparent raspberry and peppermint flavors that pick up mineral and spice notes as the finish lingers. Drink now through 2021. 2,469 cases made." - 90 Points, Wine Spectator (February 2016) Wine Spectator quotes a release price of $40. Our price is a whopping 40% less! Grab a case and drink this serious Pinot Noir all summer long.
Vin Chicago Price: 23.99 ($287.88 per case of twelve)
The single-vineyard Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir is one of the estate's flagship bottlings and we have it for the lowest price in the country!
The 2013 Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir is 100% estate fruit, farmed biodynamically and is absolutely gorgeous. Giving a deep, rich texture along with intense minerality, earth and structure, we award a substantial 92+ points. Drinkable now but ideally aged for another 3-4 years, this is seriously amazing Oregon Pinot Noir. Check out the 92-point Wine Spectator review:
"Crisp and tangy, with a mineral character running through the raspberry and cherry flavors at the core, coming together with harmony and structural tension on the vibrant finish. Best from 2017 through 2023. 3,054 cases made." - 92 Points, Wine Spectator (February 2016)
