2016 is beginning with a bang, and with perfect knitting and crochet weather! We are offering several new classes, and will have some very special guests in the next two months! Or join a knit-along with the Wonderful Wallaby pattern - it's a Wall-Along!
The new year is often when we begin projects for ourselves, after lovingly making so many gifts for others. The new year is also a time to learn new techniques. We have several opportunities for you to make a very special something for yourself, as well as add new skills! In this newsletter you'll find the following classes and event announcements:
Knit a Sweater that FitsWe have opened two new offerings of "Your First Favorite Sweater Workshop." This class fills quickly, and you won't see a new session opening for a while, so join us now! Call a friend and learn together!
You'll create a simple raglan v-neck sweater to your personal measurements, setting the stage for many more sweater designs! You'll learn many helpful techniques, you'll build your understanding of raglan sweater construction (and knitting math), and you'll knit a sweater that fits your unique body and reflects your fit preferences.
The first cohort begins this Saturday, and you won't want to miss it! Come in or call the shop to register and secure a spot in your selected cohort (registration is not available online). A more complete class description can be found on our website.

New Knitters: Let's Continue"Let's Continue: Expand Your New Knitting Skills" is designed for new knitters after you've completed a scarf or two. You'll knit the beautiful Autumn Cowl, as you learn to knit in the round, increase, decrease, and embellish with simple lace. More information is available on our website. Join us on Tuesday, January 12 and January 26 (10:30am-12:30pm)!
Need a Knitting Refresher?Join us on Wednesday, January 20 from 1:30-3:30pm for a quick knitting refresher. Whether it's been two years or 20, you'll be amazed at how quickly you remember the basics of knitting after you take this class. You'll fall in love with this craft all over again! Upcoming Learning Opportunities with Guest Instructors
- Kate Oates (Tot Toppers Designs) will join us on Monday, February 22 for two very special classes: Learn to customize hats in "Math for Hats" and learn the basics of fair isle color work while making a hat in "Fair Play." We'll also host a Meet and Greet event that evening. Watch for more details!
- Interested in rigid heddle weaving? Reba Siero will teach Beginning to Weave classes, with dates to be announced soon.
- Explore Slipped Stitch Knitting with Faina Goberstein. More class details and registration information will be announced soon.

Another Anzula Palooza With Guest Appearances!
And if that's not enough, we are welcoming Anzula to the shop on Saturday, February 6 from 1-4pm for a very special visit and Trunk Show. You'll have the opportunity to meet the talented folks behind Anzula, purchase yarns we don't usually carry directly from their stock, and you'll be able to place special orders.
Join the Wall-Along!The Wonderful Wallaby is a hooded sweater, and will become your cozy go-to sweater for casual wear. The pattern booklet, written by Carol Anderson, covers a wide range of sizes from baby to adult and is written with humor and heart.
Join the informal group of Wall-Along knitters as we cast on for this delightful, simple sweater and meet on Thursdays to knit our sweaters. We are casting on this week, however feel free to join anytime. We'll all learn together, and have fun in the process.
The booklet and yarn options are available in the shop; we ask that you use yarn from the shop to participate with the group.
TNNA I'll be attending the Winter Retailers' Show (TNNA - The National Needle Arts Association) this weekend, and will have lots more news about upcoming trends and new products when I return.
