Check out our new Research Byte video about the BEAM system for categorizing and organizing your sources.  This video will be helpful for students who are writing up their research results, and will be a good resource for instructors to incorporate into their classes in the fall.  Be sure to use the worksheets and examples posted alongside the video as well!

Abstract Writing Workshop

We're partnering with KU's Writing Center on July 13th to offer an abstract writing workshop.  Come to this workshop to learn abstract-writing basics and to work on your own rough draft. This workshop will be especially helpful to those who need an abstract to register to present at KU's Summer Undergraduate Research Poster Session, but the event is open to any undergraduates interested in refining their abstract-writing skills. No need to RSVP.  Students should bring a draft of an abstract with them and be prepared to get some writing done!

  • What: Abstract Writing Workshop
  • When: Monday, July 13th, 4:00-5:00 pm
  • Where: Kansas Room, Kansas Union

Graduate Research Consultants for Fall 2015

Interested in incorporating a larger research or creative project into a class you're teaching this fall?  We're currently accepting applications for Fall 2015 Graduate Research Consultants (GRCs).  GRCs are graduate students or postdoctoral researchers who spend thirty hours developing, implementing, and/or assessing a research project in the classroom.  Instructors and their proposed GRC partner submit a joint application outlining the GRC project. After competitive review, selected GRCs receive a $500 award to carry out their proposed project.

Applications for GRCs for the Fall 2015 semester are due by July 15.

Questions about the program can be directed to Nikki Perry at cur@ku.edu.
