Call for Symposium artwork:
win $100!

The Center for Undergraduate Research is soliciting artwork for the cover of the program for the 17th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium to be held at KU on April 26, 2014.  The design will appear on the program for the day's events, as well as promotional materials associated with the Symposium.  The winner of the cover art competition will also receive $100.

The winning design will communicate the breadth of undergraduate scholarship at KU.  Your submission could include text (with the title of the event, etc.) as part of the design, or it could be a stand-alone image that we will then incorporate into a poster layout for our promotional purposes.

Any undergraduate student at KU is eligible to participate in this competition. Submissions for the cover design should be saved as an electronic document (pdf, jpg, png, etc.) and sent via the online submission form by noon on Thursday, February 27th.

is all about:
KU's Experiential Learning Symposium

To highlight the experiential learning opportunities that exist at KU, and to explore what our peers are doing, the Experiential Learning Collaborative is pleased to announce the first-ever KU Experiential Learning Symposium to be held Friday, February 21, 2014, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Kansas Union.

The goal of the Symposium is to bring together faculty, instructors, staff, and students to discuss current practice of using experiential learning both inside and outside the classroom. Experiential learning encourages students to take an active role in their education by undertaking research, creative projects, service learning, international study, internships, and other activities.  The Experiential Learning Symposium will provide an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to share information about opportunities at KU and to learn about innovations and best practices both here and elsewhere.

Details:

  • When: Friday, February 21; 8:30-1:30
  • Where: Kansas Union
  • Who: all KU faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend
