at the 
KU Teaching Summit 

Teachers and mentors: are you interested in incorporating research into your course plans for the fall, or would you like to refine your mentoring skills?  Join your colleagues at the KU Center for Teaching Excellence's annual Teaching Summit on August 22 and be sure to attend these sessions related to undergraduate research to spark some ideas:
  • "Flipped Classes: Using Class Time to Teach Introductory Research Skills," with Mike Vitevitch, Psychology, and Mark Mort, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology
  • "Best Practices in Undergraduate Research Mentoring: Comparing Models across the Disciplines," with Robert Fiorentino, Linguistics, Jennifer Gleason, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, and Cima Katz, Visual Art.
  • "Measuring Undergraduate Learner Outcomes in Research-related Courses and Experiences: Implications for KU Core Goal 6," with Holly Storkel and Nancy Brady, Speech, Language, Hearing: Sciences and Disorders

Call for Applications:
KU Research Leaders 

The Center for Undergraduate Research is looking for students to serve as KU Research Leaders. These students will:
        • Provide feedback and guidance for our Center's programs
        • Represent undergraduate research at events  
        • Become better leaders, presenters, and peer mentors
        • Receive the first ever KU Research Leaders shirt
