Oakwood to Sponsor Voter Registration Drive

On August 25, the Oakwood University will hold a voter registration drive at Blake Center. In order to vote in the historic presidential election in November, it is crucial that first-time voters, and those who are racial minorities, verify that they are registered to vote well ahead of any local, state or national election. State voter registration deadlines vary.

Assistant Professor of Public Policy Preston Foster emphasized the importance of voting, by quoting Franklin D. Roosevelt: "Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting."
