Oakwood University currently has eight students who are from the Baltimore area, as well as three staff members who have ties to "Charm City," who were surrounded by the group of fellow students and employees on the Eva B. Dykes Library patio.

Local Huntsville news affiliate stations WHNT, WAAY, and WAFF came to cover the story.

Social Work Partners with Manna House

The Department of Social Work at Oakwood University has partnered with Manna House to provide assistance to people in need in the Huntsville area.

According to Aleece Holliman, president of Phi Alpha, "although classes have ended, we continue to minister in this capacity." Mrs. Fran Fluhler, director of the Manna House (second from the right), paused for a photo with the chapter members.

In March, Oakwood University Police Department's Captain Melvin Harris successfully completed training at the Executive Development Institute sponsored by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). This annual training program is designed to prepare command-level campus law enforcement executives, and newly appointed chiefs and directors with leadership and management skills that are germane to a campus environment. This is the only executive-level law enforcement development program that is specifically designed for campus law enforcement. This year's week-long training program was held at George Washington University in Ashburn, Virginia.
