SPOTLIGHT
Junior Raises Money for "Autism Speaks"
What: Cari single-handedly raised nearly $400 for the organization "Autism Speaks" thanks to two bake sales in September.
Facts: On September 12 and again on September 25, under the auspices of the Unity Club, Cari set up a table with goodies before and after school. She became involved with "Autism Speaks" because a friend's brother has autism.
"He means a lot to me and I know that his family struggles. If there is anything I can do to help them, like raise money for 'Autism Speaks,' I do it," said Cari.
Cari was helped by Abigail Wirfel '16, Anne Holan '18, Alyssa Jones '16, Jenea Adams '15, Brandi Harris '15, and Math Teacher and Unity Club Moderator Suzanne Smiley-Rozic. In addition to being active in the Unity Club, Cari also is one of the founders this year of Silver Linings, a club dedicated to boosting students' self-esteem.
Cari's favorite subjects are history and English.
Congratulations, Cari, on "serving the dear neighbor!"
