August 21:  Online registration begins for the Fall Community Education session. At that time, you'll be able to click here to learn more. 

August 24:  First day of the 2016-17 school year.  Early release for students in grades K-12. Click here for complete school year calendar and early release schedule. August 29:  At 6:00 p.m. at the Boise School District Services Center, Board Room, 8169 W. Victory Road, Boise, you will have an opportunity to meet the three candidates running in the September 6th Boise School Board Election. September 6:  Boise School Board election.  Two trustees will be elected each with a six year term. Polling locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the Boise District. School Bus Drivers Wanted: FIRST Student, Boise School District's school bus provider, is currently hiring school bus drivers for the 2016-17 school year. Click here  to learn more.  







Applications Now Being Accepted for Free & Reduced Price Meals:  Boise School District participates in the USDA National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. Free and reduced price meals are provided to qualifying children unable to pay the full price for meals.  Applications are currently being  accepted. Free Developmental Screenings:  Boise School District provides free developmental screenings for children ages 3 to 5 with developmental concerns. You may call 854-5520 to set-up an appointment if you have a child who may have possible delays in the following areas:
  • Speech
  • Language
  • Concepts
  • Motor Skills
  • Self Help Skills
  • Social Emotional
  • Vision
  • Hearing.

Bold Gold Program Seeking Students:  The YMCA is seeking students ages 11 to 17 to participate in their Bold Gold Program, which is an outdoor leadership development program where participants experience an outdoor wilderness environment as part of a transformative teen leadership experience.  Trips are scheduled Aug. 1 -6, Aug. 8-13 and Aug. 15-20. Federal Campaign Underway to Raise Awareness about Human Trafficking:   The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has launched a public awareness campaign to fight human trafficking.  Human trafficking is the coercion of individuals to participate in forced labor, domestic servitude, or the sex trade against their will. The Blue Campaign is designed to increase awareness of human trafficking in the United States and offers free resources to raise awareness and educate others to recognize and report human trafficking.
