Boise School District Announces 
Assistant Principal and Principal Appointments
 
Boise, ID  -- (04/27/2015) --  Boise School District announces the following assistant principal and principal appointments, effective July 1, 2015: 


Beverly Boyd - Principal, Trail Wind Elementary School

Beverly Boyd has been in the education profession since 1993. In her career she has served as an elementary school principal (Hawthorne - 2011 - present; Monroe - 2002-11); elementary intern principal (Trail Wind - 2000-02; Garfield/Mountain View - 1999-00); and elementary school teacher (Liberty - 6th grade - 1994-99; Cascade - 5th grade - 1993-94).

Principal Boyd is committed to student success. She regularly monitors, assists, evaluates and communicates effective instruction and assessment practices with all staff. She helps create a culture of high expectations that promotes the ongoing improvement of learning and teaching for students and staff using positive behavior intervention supports.

Beverly earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Music from Boise State University and a Master Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Idaho.


Dennis Konrad - Assistant Principal, Borah High School

 

Dennis Konrad has 23 years of public school teaching and coaching experience in the Boise School District. During that time, he has served as a U.S. History Teacher (Boise High School), Peer Mediation and Conflict Resolution Teacher (Boise High School), Peer Tutoring Teacher (Boise High School) and he currently serves as an assistant principal at Timberline High School (2014-present). He also has worked as athletic coach at Boise High School (Assistant Track and Field Coach, Head Track and Field Coach, Head Wrestling Coach and Assistant Football).


Dennis is a skilled education professional who is dedicated to helping students and teachers achieve their fullest potential through the educational process.  He has taken on a number of instructional leadership roles during his public school education career.  He is committed to the District's Vision of educating students for success in college, career and citizenship and dedicated to providing students with rigorous and relevant academic curriculum.  

 

Mr. Konrad  earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Boise State University, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Educational Leadership Endorsement from Northwest Nazarene University.  


 


Jeff Roberts - Principal, North Junior High School 

 

Jeff Roberts has served Boise School District students for the last 11 years. During that time, he has worked as an elementary school principal (Shadow Hills - 2013 - present; Adams - 2010-2013); summer school site coordinator (2009); intern elementary school principal (Amity & Jefferson - 2009, 2010); and elementary school teacher (Taft - 2005-09).  

 

Mr. Roberts focuses on creating a school environment that is conducive to successful learning for each and every student. He is committed to creating a positive academic environment by working effectively with parents and staff members to build strong relationships for the benefit of each and every child. He is also committed to the District's Vision of preparing each child for success in college, career and citizenship.  Jeff is a respected instructional leader who believes in using data-driven decision-making to support educational initiatives to improve student learning.  

 

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Master Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.


 

Ted Totorica - Assistant Principal, Timberline High School 

 

Ted Totorica has taught in Idaho schools since 1987.  During his 28 year education career he has served students as principal (Koelsch Elementary School - 2010 - present); assistant secondary school principal (Frank Church High School - 2009-10); secondary school Spanish teacher (Frank Church and West Jr. High - 2008-09); intern principal ( Cole & Amity elementary schools - 2007-08; Cole & Shadow Hills elementary schools - 2006-07); alternative senior high summer school principal (2004-05); elementary summer school site coordinator (Whittier - 2003); elementary intern principal (McKinley -  2002-03); music teacher (Borah High  - 1992-2006); music instructor ( University of Utah - 1990-92); and Spanish/music teacher (Meridian High - 1987-1990). 

 

Mr. Totorca is focused on preparing each student for success beyond high school, whether it be in college, career or citizenship. His strong interpersonal skills, educational leadership skills and dedication to providing a positive educational environment from which each and every student can succeed will serve him well as Assistant Principal of Timberline High School. 

 

Ted earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music from Boise State University, a Master of Music Degree from University of Utah and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Idaho.  


 

 

Valerie Uhlorn - Assistant Principal, Trail Wind Elementary School & Web Trainer 

 

Valerie Uhlorn has served students in the Boise School District for the last 8 years. During that time, she has worked as an Instructional Integration Specialist (2014 to present); Elementary Teacher (Hawthorne - 2012-14); and Special Education Teacher (Hawthorne - 2011-12; Lowell Scott Middle School - 2007-11).  

Valerie is a knowledgeable instructional leader who easily cultivates a trusting and productive working relationship with students, parents, colleagues and administrators.  She is dedicated to working collaboratively with all stakeholders in order to increase student achievement while meeting standards and fulfilling the strategic plan of the Boise School District.  

Valerie earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Washington State University, a Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from Boise State University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Idaho.
