Boise School District Announces 
Administrative Appointment
 

Boise, ID  -- 01/21/2015 --  Boise School District announces the following principal appointment, effective February 2, 2015: 

 

 

Dr. Stacie Curry, Principal, Owyhee-Harbor Elementary School

 

Citing a desire to return to the schools to "follow her passion of directly leading and educating students", Dr. Stacie Curry, current Borah High Area Director, has been appointed to serve as Principal of Owyhee-Harbor Elementary School.

 

"I requested to be considered for this position and I couldn't be more excited to be working again with students, in the schools, where my true passion resides," explained Dr. Curry.  "I have enjoyed my time in District leadership and now I feel the time is right for me to make this career move so I can better serve students, school staff and parents."  


Dr. Curry has a wealth of successful administrative and school leadership experience spanning nearly 30 years. She served as Area Director for the Borah High Quadrant (2012-2015), District Professional Development and Student Achievement Administrator (2007-2012) and as Principal of Fairmont Junior High School (2003-2007).  She also worked as a secondary school teacher in Meridian (2002-2003), assistant superintendent in Riverdale, CA (2001-2002), middle school principal in Fowler, CA (1994-2001), vice principal/teacher in Sanger, CA (1991-1994), teacher in Clovis, CA (1990-1991, 1987-1989), and Gifted and Talented Education Coordinator in Arroyo Grande, CA (1989-1990). 

  

Dr. Curry has successfully led Boise's efforts to expand the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program throughout the District.  This state and nationally recognized program prepares middle performing students for the rigors and success of college and career opportunities.  Dr. Curry has also played an instrumental role in coordinating implementation of the District's Strategic Plan. Dr. Curry has proven herself as an effective instructional leader by improving academic programs and achievement among students.  She has worked with diverse populations and gained valuable experience by opening a middle school in another district.  

 

Dr. Curry has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master of Arts Degree from California State University (Fresno, CA) and a Doctorate of Education Degree from University of La Verne, California.
