District Announces Administrative Appointments

 

Boise, ID  (05/23/14) The Boise School District is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments, effective the start of the 2014-15 school year:

  

Helga Frankenstein - District GATE Supervisor

Helga Frankenstein's career of providing excellent educational opportunities for students in the Boise School District began in 1994.  Since that time, she has worked as a third grade teacher (3 years - Liberty Elementary), fourth, fifth and sixth grade teacher (9 years - Trail Wind Elementary), third/fourth grade combination Gifted and Talented Education teacher (4 years - Monroe Elementary) and assistant elementary school principal (1 year - currently Horizon).


In addition, she has worked as a Gifted Education Consultant and a Mentor for the Gifted Education Facilitator in the McCall Donnelly School District (2 years).  Helga also supervised student teachers for Boise State University (2 years).  

 

Helga is a recognized and respected educational leader who has committed herself to making certain students have every opportunity to succeed. She is dedicated to the District's Strategic Plan Vision of preparing every student for success in college, in career and in life.  


She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University, a Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho and an Endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education from Northwest Nazarene University.   


Helga's experience and knowledge in serving different learning styles, including Gifted Education students, will serve her well as she serves as the Boise District's GATE Supervisor beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.
  

  

Jason Hutchison - Principal, Grace Jordan Elementary School

Jason Hutchison has served as an educator in California for 15 years.  He has worked as a public school elementary and secondary school teacher (7 years), elementary and secondary school assistant principal (2 years), elementary school principal (3 years) and  currently serves as Principal (3 years) at Richland Junior High School in Shafter, California in the Richland School District.

 

Mr. Hutchison has also taught summer school (8 years) in grades 3-7 and coached baseball, volleyball and basketball at various grade levels (8 years).   Jason has participated in a number of public school leadership positions, including serving as Interim Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation; School Attendance Review Board Member for the Richland School District; School Site Council Member; Principal's Council Member; English Language Development Committee Member; Athletic Coordinator and Discipline Committee Member.

 

In 2008, Mr. Hutchison was named Co-Administrator of the Year by The Association of California School Administrators and nominated as a "Real Hero" of Kern County (CA) by one of his school's parents.  He is actively involved in a wide variety of community activities and associations in California and believes strongly in building strong school/community relations.

 

As a principal, Mr. Hutchison is committed to academic and personal success for each student. He believes strongly in preparing each student for college, career and citizenship and has a history of effectively partnering with parents, community members and working with staff members to build a school culture of academic and social success.

 

Jason has a Bachelor of Art Degree in History from California State University (Bakersfield, CA) and a Master Degree in Educational Administration from National University (San Diego, CA).

 

Mr. Hutchison will serve as Principal of Grace Jordan Elementary School beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 

Holly MacLean - Half-Time Assistant Principal, Shadow Hills Elementary School; Half-Time Principal, Treasure Valley Mathematics and Science Center

Dr. Holly MacLean has 36 years experience serving students in education.  During that time, she has worked as a classroom teacher (Vancouver, Canada; Hayward, CA; Cherry Creek, CO; and Houston, TX), District K-12 Mathematics and Science Supervisor (Vancouver, Canada), Technology/Science Specialist (Alief, TX), District Coordinator of K-6 Mathematics and K-12 Health (Alief, TX), Junior High Assistant Principal (Riverglen), Elementary Assistant Principal (Shadow Hills) and Principal (Treasure Valley Mathematics and Science Center).

 

Holly is dedicated to academic rigor and high achievement for each student and committed to the District's Strategic Plan Vision of seeing that students are prepared for college, career and citizenship.  She is supportive of the Common Core standards that challenge students by requiring critical thinking and reading skills and she is supportive of efforts to prepare staff members to implement the standards in the classroom.  

 

Dr. MacLean has successfully developed a program at TVMSC that regularly receives state and national recognition for its support of students and student academic achievement. Holly is a highly skilled and supportive education professional who is driven by the success of her students and staff members. She believes strongly in creating a positive school culture of educational excellence by working well with students, staff and parents.  

 

Dr. MacLean earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada; Master of Arts Degree in Education from the University of British Columbia; and a Doctorate Degree in Education from the University of Houston.

 

Holly will serve as half-time Principal at the Treasure Valley Mathematics and Science Center and half-time Assistant Principal at Shadow Elementary School beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.     

 


Chad Wright - Assistant Principal, Horizon Elementary School

Chad Wright has taught students as a public school educator in Idaho for 16 years. During that time, he has worked as a secondary coach (Football, Volleyball, Track and Wrestling - Fairmont, Meridian High and Lowell Scott), physical education teacher (currently Fairmont, Lowell Scott), athletic administrator (currently Fairmont), assistant principal (Boise District Summer School Program - Alternative High School) and principal (Boise District Summer School - Alternative Junior High School). He also has served as an administrative intern.

  

Mr. Wright is an enthusiastic supporter and leader of the District's Vision of preparing students for post secondary success, whether it be in college, career or citizenship. He is well trained in a wide variety of District supported professional development initiatives that are leading to success and improvements in Boise's classrooms.  He has served on the District's Curriculum Writing Committee for Physical Education and has been trained in AVID - a highly successful District program to prepare middle performing students for college and career success.

  

Chad believes each and every child can and will learn and he is committed to providing  the finest educational program to each student.  He is a knowledgeable, hard working and professional educator who is dedicated to academic rigor and high expectations for all students. Chad believes in establishing a positive school climate by developing open communication between students, parents and the entire school community.

  

Chad  earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Boise State University and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University.

  

Mr. Wright will begin serving the students and parents of Horizon Elementary School as Assistant Principal beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.
